LES ALLEN / Founder & Chairman

Over the past three decades Les has successfully developed dozens of cutting-edge projects in greater Vancouver and throughout the province of British Columbia. Les’ strength in real estate development draws on his strong background in finance, construction and land development. Les prides himself for taking on leading-edge projects and executing them with a creative and positive management style. Les is a graduate from the University of British Columbia with a diploma in Urban Land Economics.

KIRK ROMERO / CEO

Kirk has led Meridian Modular since inception of the company in 2011. His prior experience includes managing both large multi-national organizations and smaller entrepreneurial companies. His diverse experience comes from positions as a publisher of magazines and websites, as Chief Operating Officer for Trader Corporation, V.P. Operations, North America for Trader Classified Media, Chief Accounting Officer for Trader Classified Media in Paris, France and roles of increasing responsibility in the Finance Division of The Coca-Cola Company in both Atlanta, Ga. and London, England. Kirk began his career as a CPA with Coopers & Lybrand in Houston, Texas and is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin.

GEOFF GOLDSMITH-JONES / VP Business Development

Geoff is responsible for business acquisition for Meridian. Geoff works with our clients, partners and stakeholders across all areas of the business including government and public agency relations, property developers and owners, engineering and architectural firms, general contractors and building trades, institutional lenders, and private equity investors. Geoff joins Meridian from a business development career in the tech sector where he developed and managed relationships with large public and private sector clients across a broad range of industries. Most recently, as VP Sales for PayByPhone, Geoff successfully engaged and worked collaboratively with large cities throughout North America to implement and deploy the company’s mobile payments service.  Over the course of his career Geoff has provided complex technical infrastructure solutions to municipal and regional government clients, as well as clients in the education, healthcare, telecom, transportation, and tech sectors. Geoff studied engineering and building technologies at BCIT.

MARK SUNDIN / Quality Control Manager

Mark’s responsibility includes oversight of our offshore production facilities and ensuring Meridian’s products comply with all North American code and certification requirements.  He brings over 20 years of conducting business between North America, Japan, China and Korea and is fluent in Japanese and conversational in Mandarin.  Mark has a comprehensive understanding of how to manage Canadian-Sino business operations from sourcing manufacturing, import/export, sales and distribution on both sides of the Pacific.  Mark also spent two years managing wood-framed modular construction projects for both residential and commercial buildings.  He has a strong interest in seeing steel frame modular construction become a standard method of building across North America.

MEHDI KAMALI / Construction Technologist

Mehdi is Meridian’s in-house designer for our modular building units and how these units fit into an overall project.   He brings several years of residential and commercial design experience to Meridian as well as deep experience working with Computer Aided Design software such as Autodesk Revit and Autocad.  Mehdi has strong knowledge of building codes and construction methods both in modular and conventional stick built systems.  He received his Masters of Architecture in 2007 in Iran and Certificate in Architectural and building Engineering Technology in British Columbia Institute of Technology.

LESLIE JONES / Office Administrator

After graduating from Capilano University with a diploma in paralegal studies, Leslie worked for 15 years as a paralegal with a major Vancouver law firm.  In 2001 she joined the Allen Group as Office Administrator and Executive Assistant to Mr. Allen. Leslie's work with the Allen Group includes the day-to-day management of two commercial properties and one multi-family property. Between 2005 and 2008 Leslie also assisted in the management and over-sight of the build out of a 42-lot cottage development on the Sunshine Coast.  Leslie has now assumed the role of Office Administrator for Meridian Resource Accommodations.  She is an avid reader and long distance runner – born and raised in Vancouver.

MARY MCLAUGHLIN / Finance and Accounting

Mary has 30+ years of experience in all aspects of bookkeeping, financial statement and tax return preparation. After graduating from the University of British Columbia, Mary spent five years with the Canada Revenue Agency before taking a position with a Certified Accountancy firm in Vancouver, BC.  Mary now uses the deep knowledge gained from these positions to provide Meridian with a full range of finance and accounting services.
